A modern interpretation of the classic neon sign

There was a time when the animated neon sign was seen everywhere and it’s great to see someone using the somewhat ‘classic’ digital method of animated GIFs to recreate them.

Created by pop artist and ‘neon obsessive’ Mr Whaite (mrwhaite.tumblr.com) these animations are both fun and surprisingly authentic.

Habanero creates Darren Clarke Open Championship win promo materials in record time!

The weekend and the start of the week have been frantic time for Habanero due to Darren Clarke’s wonderful Open Championship win at Sandwich, Kent on Sunday.

Darren is sponsored by one of our clients, TaylorMade-adidas Golf, and we got the call half way through Sunday to say ‘We think Darren might win, can we start work on some designs for an advert for tomorrow’s Telegraph?’.

From that point onwards it was all hands to the deck getting the designs approved and out the door for not only print adverts but also leaderboard and MPU flash animated banners for a number of websites around Europe.

All the deadlines were hit and the client was extremely happy with the final result, as I’m sure Darren Clarke was, although we suspect he might have been feeling the celebrations in the following days!

Click here to see the web banners we created in action.

The power and beauty of nature

Thousands flee their homes and flights are grounded as a Chilean volcano sends plumes of ash showering down.

This volcano sent towering plumes of ash across South America, forcing thousands from their homes, grounding airline flights in southern Argentina and coating ski resorts with a gritty layer of dust instead of snow.
